The Clinton-Massie High School Vision and Mission was developed through a series of collaborations during the 2011-2012 school year and finalized at an opening day staff meeting prior to the 2012-2013 school year. Work began with a small committee of certified staff members and soon expanded to include the entire high school teaching staff as well as building administrators with input and support from the superintendent. We believe our Mission is an honest reflection of what we do for students at Clinton-Massie High School and our Vision represents what we hope to accomplish for all our stakeholders.
Our Belief...
WE BELIEVE THAT...
- Each student needs to take an active role on his/her own education
which will lead to the desire for life long learning.
- All individuals involved in the Clinton-Massie community should
deomonstrate harmony, mutual respect, cooperation, and share in
a common vision.
- Clinton-Massie High School will develop positively functioning
citizens in a changing society.
- Students need a clean, healthy, and safe environment in which to
learn.
- We can meet the needs of all students and that students can learn.
Our Philosophy...
We believe that the dignity and worth of the individual
is of paramount importance. It is the purpose of the Clinton-Massie
School System to accept each student at the level of learning they
have attained and to guide them by learning experiences that are
adjusted to their abilities and needs. The development of a positive
attitude toward oneself, fellow students, school, and the learning
process should be promoted by providing opportunities for a variety
of successful learning experiences.
We believe that each student shall have those experiences, which
result in the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to
become a responsible and contributing citizen. The curriculum will
provide the opportunity for the student to realize these goals.
We recognize the need for systematic change to meet the challenge
of a changing society. Systematic change requires thoughtful planning,
thorough testing of ideas, accurate evaluation, and constant adjustment
to build on past successes and to plan for improvement. In addition,
we believe that a school fulfills its purpose only if the citizens
of the community, the school, staff, and the students all work together.
